The Central Texas Astronomical Society is active in our immediate communities of Waco, Clifton, Gatesville, and Turnersville. We have listed some events taking place in these communities on our Calendar of Events .
Are you visiting our area? Be sure to let us know. We can usually arrange a private visit of the Meyer Observatory, if you miss one of our Public Open House events.
In Clifton plan to see to works from some of the best artists in the Country, a great winery, and an outstanding museum. The Clifton Chamber of Commerce has information about happenings in Cifton, including a display open 24/7 in front of their office. They are open during business hours on weekdays.
Did you know that Gatesville is the "Spur Capitol of Texas"? In addition to the largest collection of spurs anywhere, you can also visit Fort Hood, one of our largest military bases. The Gatesville Chamber of Commerce has a display outside their office, and is open mornings or weekdays.
Turnersville is the community closest to the Meyer Observatory. They have great community events throughout the year. We list these events on our Calendar of Events. We also have a schedule of Turnersville Events in Spring of 2012 for download.
