Central Texas Astronomical Society (CTAS) will have a Star Viewing Party for the general public and members on Saturday at Overlook Park (outside Belton. Bring out any telescopes you have or just enjoy those set up by CTAS members.
This is a free event and your attendance can be registered on the CTAS website at the blue link at the above top. Dress appropriately and bring folding chairs and red flashlights. Red flashlights can be made by putting red plastic over the lens of an ordinary flashlight.
Guests attending are encouraged to bring their own telescopes for some personal help tips from CTAS members or just enjoy those set up by members.
If this event is cancelled due to weather, a cancellation notice will be posted by 6 PM on the CTAS website: http://www.centexastronomy.org/.
If you come, please try to be on time since it is hard to find your way around in the dark and disruptive to others viewing after dark. Bring a small red flashlight and dress for the weather. In the event we have weather that will not permit viewing, we will post the cancellation on our web site by 6pm. Please check http://www.centexastronomy.org/ for more information on CTAS and directions to the viewing sites.
